Why Yoga

The practice of Hatha Yoga began in India, five thousand years ago. Yoga, meaning "to yoke" was a way of life that united mind, body and spirit. It has become extremely popular in recent years as a means of promoting relaxation.

The benefits of yoga are endless. A few examples include, increased flexibility, improved strength and muscle tone, enhanced breath and self awareness, reduced stress and weight loss.

Through a combination of postures and breathing exercises, hatha yoga seeks to provide physical health, mental harmony and emotional balance. Its techniques can be practiced by everyone regardless of age, religion or physical limitations.

However, if you suffer from a chronic medical condition or injury, please consult with your doctor before starting a yoga practice. Yoga should never be thought of as a replacement for medical care.
